A New Era in Anti-Infectives

Innovation in Anti-Infective and Wound Management Technologies

Treatment of Burns

Burns are exceedingly challenging due to the high risk of infection since the skin is no longer a barrier to bacteria. As well, skin grafts offer potential for a number of complications.

A graft "takes" or is successful when new blood vessels and tissue form in the injured area. Sometimes, skin grafts do not take because of early complications such as infection, which is the most common cause of graft failure.

Due to the use of Microcyn in the debridement process, this boy will experience far less pain and more rapid healing.Based upon preliminary results from a clinical study conducted at the Guadalajara Civil Hospital, when patients are treated with Microcyn® Technology in a comprehensive treatment program, healing of the burns is accelerated, the levels of pain and infection reduced and the patient hospital stay, on average, is reduced from 28.6 days to 14.9 days with significant cost savings per patient.

In addition to these promising results, physicians are also able to more easily treat facials burns since Microcyn® Technology can be used freely about the face, eyes and mouth without concern about toxicity.
