US. The production facility operated by Oculus Innovative
Sciences in The Netherlands B.V., closed on August 31, 2009.
Marketing and distribution activities for Microcyn based
products in Europe, Africa and Eastern markets are directed
by the European Office in The Netherlands.
Globally, Oculus is focused on generating
market awareness of the wound management capabilities of
the disruptive Microcyn®-technology.
Dermacyn® Wound
Care is a super-oxidized solution for treating acute and
chronic wounds (e.g. diabetic foot ulcers and burns). The
combination of excellent performance (broadly applicable
within a comprehensive wound treatment); unparalleled safety
for patient, medical practitioner and environment; and a
ready-to-use, extended-shelf-life formula makes Dermacyn® Wound
Care a clear revolution. The application has received approval
according to the European Medical Devices Directive (93/42/EEC).
This CE-certification was obtained in November 2004.
In terms of a high-level disinfectant
for medical devices and instruments, the Microcyn®-Technology
already received CE-marking in Q3 2004. This product, Oculus
Microcyn60™ Disinfectant (OMD), was reviewed and approved
according to the latest European and international standards
for antimicrobial properties (bactericidal, fungicidal, virucidal
and sporicidal) under the supervision of the Dutch Notified
Body (KEMA).
Exclusive distribution of the Microcyn®-based
products in the Middle East countries of United Arab Emirates;
Saudi Arabia; Bahrain; Kuwait; Oman; Qatar; Egypt; Jordan;
Lebanon; Algeria; Morocco; Tunisia; Mauritania; Iraq; and
Turkey is facilitated by Joseph and Gionis International.
