To date, Oculus has
been issued 10 patents for the Microcyn Technology
(7 in-licensed in Japan, one in the United
States and two in the European Union). Since
1995, the patent term in the United States
is 20 years from the earliest claimed filing
date. Our
issued U.S. patent was filed on September 13,
2002. As well, there are 33 patents pending;
13 in the United States and 20 foreign.
Oculus’ patent claims
include chemical composition, manufacturing apparatus,
method of manufacturing and therapeutic uses.
While the Microcyn Technology has been commercialized
globally for the past three years, there have
been no infringement lawsuits filed against the
company.
Oculus recently prevailed in a favorable
Federal Court ruling against
a company that had infringed upon Oculus’ intellectual
property.
